Organizational Structure of HEC

Structure of Higher Education Council:

  1. Chairman of the Higher Education Council, who is the Minister of Higher Education chairman, provided that he/she is among the faculty members.
  2. The members of the Higher Education Council are:
    1. Presidents of public universities.
    2. Vice Presidents of Public Universities for Scientific Affairs.
    3. One representative from the private universities, named by the Chairman of the Higher Education Council annually, on rotation.
    4. A representative of the centers of scientific studies and research nominated by the Chairman of the Higher Education Council provided that he is a faculty member.
    5. A representative of the Syrian Academics Association (or the Academics Syndicate).
  3. Secretary of the Council of Higher Education
  4. Higher Education Council has the right to invite to attend the Council’s meetings whomever it deems appropriate with experience, without having the right to vote.

Chairman of the Higher Education Council, in the event of his/her absence, shall represent the Chairman of the Council’s meetings, from among the members delegated by him/her.
